Hello!
I am Tony Luong Thien Hoa, a graduate of Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture. I have over 16 years of experience in visual storytelling. Before becoming a filmmaker, I established myself as a kids photographer. This background sharpened my sensitivity to emotions, gestures, and the inner worlds of young subjects. It not only shaped my visual language but also became a defining strength, allowing me to work closely with characters and guide them naturally toward authentic, truthful performances on screen.

Since 2013, I have pursued documentary filmmaking, creating personal works such as Huong (2021) and The Color of Bamboo (2023).

In 2023, my fiction short film Lost, which I wrote and directed, was officially selected at seven international film festivals and was notably nominated for Best Short Film at the Taiwan International Children’s Film Festival (TICFF).

In 2025, I was selected as Vietnam’s representative for the American Film Showcase Documentary Residency — the world’s leading academic exchange program in documentary filmmaking — organized by the U.S. Department of State at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, part of the University of Southern California.

I am also officially recognized as a DaVinci Resolve Certified Trainer by Blackmagic Design, reflecting my professional expertise in color grading and post-production, as well as my commitment to mentoring and elevating the next generation of filmmakers.
